Common sense should prevail here. Freshen up the house, get rid of the clutter, paint your house in neutral colors that anybody could live with, and clean it up and keep it clean. My husband and I have looked at many houses over the last couple of years and have never seen the "staged" look yet. It is probably because we are looking at homes in the 275,000 to 300,000 range in price.
