What areas of NY are safe and have some trees?
The Upper West Side has Central Park and most of the streets that run east/west from Central Park West to Riverside have trees. Many areas of New York are safe now. That’s one of the other advantages of living in New York City, there are deep woods and forest just a short drive away!
Long Island, just outside of Queens is a great place for families, huge trees, gorgeous lots, beautiful houses; a few towns around the area, Port Washington, Great Neck; all wonderful. They are quite pricy though.. Then you will go a bit farther east along long island expressway and check out a few of those areas; the price get bette.
Staten Island is very nice. There is a section of the Bronx that is nice, too. As far as Manhattan goes, the upper East and West sides are fabulous, but very expensive! You could also try Long Island, if you like beaches. The North Shore has more of a country feel. Upstate is mountains and small town.
